These poems take you on an imaginary journey to Scaranimal Island where animals and plants and flowers have been scrambled together to create new creatures. The poems include rhymes and puns. Illustrations are black line art combined with watercolors. They provide full color illustration on three quarters of the two page spread for each poem with the poem on either the right side of the right page or the left side of the left page. The title of the poem is at the top with the page number - a unique twist to include the titles. At the bottom is the pronunciation guide to the new creature.
Activity: Create your own scaranimal and illustrate it. Possibly also write a poem about your scaranimal.
